UM Today: Winter Weather Advisory

NWS has Lafayette County under a Winter Weather Advisory. Monitoring of the storm continues. Follow www.olemiss.edu/emergency for updates.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Lafayette County. It is too soon to predict the actual influence on our area. The Crisis Action Team remains in contact with the National Weather Service, city and county Emergency Management Administrators, and the University administration. Current forecasts by the National Weather Service indicate Lafayette County could experience ice Friday afternoon/evening. Students are encouraged to factor this impending weather system into their plans to ensure they are available for exams starting Monday. Please check the emergency website regularly www.olemiss.edu/emergency for updates, but plans are to continue with exams as currently scheduled. Our Physical Plant team is preparing to treat sidewalks and steps for ice, but it can accumulate quickly, so please use extreme care.
