Stout’s Offers Personalized Service from the Floor Up

There’s no doubt that Oxford is growing. More businesses are popping up, homes are being built, and families are setting down roots. For 28 years, one constant in assisting that growth has been Stout’s Carpet and Flooring.
New Albany native and Ole Miss graduate Mitchel Stout chose to carry on the family flooring legacy here in Oxford. Stout’s family owns a carpet and flooring center in New Albany. Oxford seemed like the perfect fit: close to family, but not too close to be competition.

He and his wife, Lisa, opened Stout’s Carpet in 1986.
Stout’s prides itself in carrying all of the products featured in the big-box stores, like Home Depot or Lowes. But the friendly team at Stout’s also offers unmatched customer service and care.
Stout’s sells more than just carpet (but they do carry a large selection of it). They carry all types of tiles — including glass and ceramic — as well as hardwood flooring. Lisa Stout explains reclaimed pine flooring is all the rage in today’s market.
Stout’s literally has something for everyone and will work with any budget. They will send trained employees to install new flooring, or give tips and provide the tools needed to do it yourself.

Each of Stout’s employees is professionally trained and the company stays on top of training certifications to provide the best service possible customer service.
Another advantage to choosing Stout’s is its convenience and competitive pricing. If they don’t the exact material in stock, they will order it. And there’s no need to travel out-of-town to find the flooring needed for a new home or remodeling job. the Stout’s philosophy is to attract local business and support other local businesses.
Lisa stresses that they do most of their shopping at other local, small businesses, like Sneed’s Hardware. They also give back to both local school districts – Oxford and Lafayette.
Stout’s was even selected to showcase the HGTV Flooring by Shaw series of products. This partnership provides exclusive products and inspiration to spruce up any room in the house.

The Oxford Eagle has named Stout’s Carpet and Flooring “Best Carpet Store” every year. Lisa and Mitchell hope to continue moving forward with existing customers, gain new customers, stay on top of new products and help Oxford continue to grow.
“We are fortunate to a part of this growing community,” Lisa said. “And when you buy from Stout’s, you’re supporting a local family who lives here, raised our kids here, and we put our money back into the community that supports us in return.”
