Put Your Hair In Trusted Hands With Alice & Company

Alice & Company, located on University Avenue, has an out-of-town attraction that other salons in town don’t have.

Salon owner Marie Moore

“We have been here since 1990,” said Marie Moore, the salon’s owner.

Moore became the owner of Alice & Company in June of 2013. She has been cutting hair all of her life, but not always in Oxford. Since she has moved to Oxford, her clientele has continued to grow with customers from all over.

“I started cutting hair with a license when I moved here to Oxford in 2000,” says Moore.

Adley Schmid, a sophomore at the University of Mississippi, has been a client of Moore’s for two years. Schmid says, “I don’t go to the girl at home anymore because I’m really impressed with what she’s done.”

Alice & Company offers nail care, hair styling and cuts, hair straightening, color enhancements, and waxing. Moore says the company styles hair and make up for formals, weddings, or any special event one may have. Recently, the salon started providing nail parties by reservation.

Alice Bethay, the founder of Alice & Co.

The founder of Alice and Company, Alice Bethay, has been styling, cutting and coloring hair since 1967. To create a trustworthy client base, Bethay says she would receive great reviews by word of mouth.

“I had always wanted to own my own salon,” says Bethay.

Patti Carlisle drives from Holly Springs to get a cut, color, and style from Bethay. She has been a client of Bethay’s for 20 years. Carlisle says the thing she likes most about Bethay’s work is the color and cuts.

When asked why she continues to book appointments with Bethay, Carlisle says, “Just to be sure the color was right.” Carlisle says she heard good things about Bethay which proves word of mouth builds a strong customer base.

To learn more about Alice and Company of Oxford, visit their website. The salon is open Monday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
