J. Olive Co. Coming to Oxford Square in March

The J. Olive Company is coming to Oxford! Featuring the highest quality olive oils and balsamic vinegars from the northern and southern hemispheres, the store is set to open on the Square March 1.

The J. Olive Company will be located in the old Miss Monogram store next to Locals on North Lamar. The store is the second for owner, The James Family, who have an existing store in Ridgeland.

The store provides a different experience than shopping at your local grocery store. It allows customers to come in and try the various olive oils and balsamic vinegars. If they like a certain kind, it can be bottled right there and sent out the door with the customer. Stainless steel containers help hold and preserves the oils and vinegars and various sizes of bottles are offered ranging from 200 mL for $12.95 to 750 mL for $29.95.

Lee James, one of the owners of J. Olive Company, said that the oils and vinegars are of higher quality than a traditional grocery store because the company requires greater standards from their suppliers. All of the oils are 100% natural, non-GMO, and gluten free. Additionally, there are options besides extra virgin oils.

“Fused and infused oils are very popular,” James says, “For example, we carry basil infused olive oil which means the basil is thrown into the olive crushing process, flavoring the olive oil.” The complete list of products can be found on the company’s website.

“Oxford offers an exceptional culinary experience and it fits with what we do,” James explains. There is no place in town that offers the unique experience that J. Olive Company provides and it will bring yet another great piece to the culinary scene of Oxford.
