Video: Listen to the Ole Miss Fight Song against Texas Aggies

shasta dancing and damein

Despite the cloudy weather and dim forecast in the football (which later turned into a joyful victory), Ole Miss fans had fun in the Grove.

Author Kathryn Hood signed her books in the Grove as The Rebel Blues Band played “Go Ole Miss” to the tune of “I Saw the Light.”

Hood met Silas Reed, who is the guitarist in the video of The Rebel Blues Band, by chance when he was leaving the music building on university campus three years ago. He played for her first book signing on campus as well as playing the electric guitar on The Ole Miss Rebel Blues CD.

Watch the video below to hear the song.

Hood sent the lyrics so y’all can learn this song for the next Aggies games in 2016. It could be fun to switch out the Aggies with Tigers for LSU, and perhaps Hogs for Arkansas, and of course Bulldogs for Mississippi State.

Go Ole Miss!

Rebs gonna fight! Lord, Rebs gonna fight!
No more losses. What a delight!
Beat them damn Aggies! Fins Up an’ take a bite
Go Ole Miss, Rebs gonna fight!

Aggies struggled on, but they couldn’t win
Sharks wouldn’t let those poor Aggies in
Offense played like a cyclone with full might
Go Ole Miss! Rebs win tonight

Rebs gonna fight! Lord, Rebs gonna fight!
No more losses. What a delight!
Beat them damn Aggies! Fins Up an’ take a bite

Go Ole Miss, Rebs gonna fight

Go Ole Miss, Rebs gonna fight

Just like a weakling, Aggies stumbled round
Tackles and sacks, Rebs knocked them right down
Chads threw the passes, connected just right
Praise Hugh Freeze! Rebs won tonight!

Rebs gonna fight! Lord, Rebs gonna fight!
No more losses. What a delight
Beat them damn Aggies! Fins Up, an’ take a bite

Go Ole Miss, Rebs gonna fight!

Go Ole Miss, Rebs won tonight!
