A Night of Thanks: Building a Community within a Community
On November 11, 2015, at 7:30 p.m., Wellspring Community Church, will host their second annual Night of Thanks and Vision event, at the Lyric, in Oxford, Mississippi.
Nathaniel Rios, pastor of Wellspring Community Church, designed the event to thank the local servicemen, government officials, community leaders and business owners in the community.
Rios said “The Night of Thanks and Vision, is meant to say thank you to those who give their lives, to making Oxford such a great place to live.”
“The event will give those in the community a chance to cast their vision, to continue making Oxford a better place,” he said.
Shera Rios said the Night of Thanks is a time to build community and unity in the city of Oxford, and a chance to realize how blessed (Oxonians) are in all the different aspects of this city.
“My favorite part of this event, is stepping back and watching those in the community, be able to interact,” said Shera
In addition, Rios and the Wellspring congregation will honor the Oxford High School baseball team for winning the 5-A state championship. The event will also honor Oxford High School football coach Johnny Hill. The Wellspring Community Church music team will be on hand, to provide music and to serve for the event. There will be a dinner for those in attendance.
