Larry Brown Ale Soon to Appear in Oxford

Yalobusha Brewing Company has created a new ale in honor of Larry Brown, a noted literary figure in Oxford and north Mississippi.

His son, Shane Brown, who is a HottyToddy.com contributor was handed this ale by the owner of the Neon Pig in Oxford. Shane posted this picture on Facebook, saying, “It’s here!!! I was given my first bottle of Larry Brown Ale and my mama steals it from me.”

Andy O’Bryan, owner of Yalobusha Brewing Company, said, “Larry Brown Ale is being delivered to distributor today and should be available to retailers next week. Once we know it is out in the market, we will have a launch party at Delta Steak Company and Shane Brown will be playing music that night.”

The date of that party is to be announced.

O’Bryan came up with the idea of the Larry Brown Ale as a tribute when he was planning on creating a new brown ale. Its recipe is traditional with a few tweaks such as flaked oaks to lend a velvety feel.
