Today is National Southern Food Day!

As you know, I mention our AWESOME Southern Food OFTEN in my southern poems. No one does it like we do!

Though no one cooks southern food QUITE like a true southerner, EVERYONE wants to TRY! Would you believe that the amazingly delicious looking pan of cornbread was cooked by one of my Canadian friends, Karen Owens from Vancouver, British Columbia?

I always call her my Wanna-Be Southern and Undercover Southern friend. She loves it! She wanted to try her hand at real down-home southern-style cornbread. She even borrowed a cast iron skillet from a friend for her very first time cooking cornbread.

I think she did a fantastic job! Check out her cornbread adventure on her blog: A Cup of Tea and a Cozy Mystery..

If you like tea, good books (especially mysteries) and interesting recipes then you’ll love her blog. LIKE her Facebook page to keep updated.
