Many said farewells to the University of Mississippi on Saturday after much blood, sweat and tears to earn a degree. But every soul who stood in the Grove on May 14 said “see you later” to Ole Miss. You see, Frank E. Everett knew the words on every Rebel’s heart when he said, “The University is respected, but Ole Miss is loved. The University gives a diploma and regretfully terminates tenure, but one never graduates from Ole Miss.” Ole Miss is a spiritual thing whereas the university is physical.
