Could Ole Miss Jerseys Be A New Fashion Statement In The Grove?

topstoryhottytoddy

For decades, Ole Miss has been known for over the top tents, beautiful people and formal game day attire. On Saturdays in the fall, the Grove is overflowing with men, women and children of all ages dressed to the nines. Outfits consist of guys in seersucker suits, women in tight dresses paired with four inch heels and children in their Sunday best.

Ole Miss fans have always had a flair for straight forward fashion, never being afraid to over-dress or try new trends. Over the past few years, a new trend has emerged in Oxford, Mississippi: the football jersey. While the male Ole Miss fans have always worn football jerseys, paired with khakis and dress shoes, women have taken this outfit choice to another level.

For female Rebel fans, jerseys are styled in many different ways on game day. Jerseys can be worn tucked into skirts, shorts or pants, and many wear them as dresses. In order to give the outfit a trendy, formal look, the jerseys are paired with high heels, boots or booties. The addition of bulky necklaces, big earrings and lots of bracelets creates a more fashion forward look for the jersey style. Somehow these boxy articles of clothing that were meant for guys have been modified to become a must have piece in an Ole Miss girl’s closet.

As most of the nation knows, the Ole Miss vs. Alabama game is this weekend. This game has been anxiously anticipated, and the game day color is powder blue, a trend Ole Miss has revived in the last few years. As you prepare your outfit for the biggest college football game of the weekend, you can choose the traditional Grove attire or decide to sport your own version of the Ole Miss jersey trend. This just might become your lucky game day attire.
