The Sky's The Limit For Oxford's One-Stop Shop
Skymart Grocery and Bait Shop has been a staple in Oxford for decades. The store strives to be a friendly, one-stop shop for anyone who comes through their doors, but especially for those who are headed to Sardis Lake.
Randy Rogers, owner of Skymart, envisions his business as more of a small town grocery store and less of a convenience store. The shop carries groceries, toiletries, household necessities and other items that other retailers do not, including his large, live bait area.
“It’s not like your typical convenience store,” Rogers said. “You can get just about anything here. We have minnows, we have crickets, we have worms. If you’re headed to the lake, it’s an easy in and an easy out.”
Customers will also be pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant tucked into the back of Skymart. B’s BBQ is locally famous for their hearty breakfast and daily plate lunches filled to the brim with meat and vegetables.
“You can’t beat that barbecue back there,” Rogers said. “Everybody loves it.”
Skymart Grocery and Bait Shop has been a tradition in Oxford for almost 40 years and continues to show growth. Their customers, who return for years and culminate personal relationships with the owner and staff, are proof that Skymart’s roots run deep and its future shines bright.
“When you walk in that door, everyone knows you,” Rogers said. “It’s a good place to be with friendly and knowledgeable staff.”
