Lafayette County Man Charged in Wife’s Murder

The name of the woman killed Friday during a domestic fight has been released by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department.

Jimmy Hester remains at the Lafayette County Jail on a $200,000 bond.

Jimmy Hester, 76, was charged with the murder of this wife, Lula “Lou Lou” M. Hester.

According to reports, deputies responded to a call in reference to a domestic disturbance and gunshots at about 1:22 p.m. to 433 CR 371 (Pleasant Ridge Road), halfway between Oxford and Water Valley.

After arriving, investigators discovered Lula Hester had been shot and killed.

Investigators arrested Hester at the scene without incident and transported him to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he is being held.

This morning, a Justice County Judge formerly charged Hester with his wife’s murder and gave him a $200,000 bond.
