With the crowd taking over Oxford on the eve of the Egg Bowl, parking is a premium but not all Oxford roads are made for roadside parking.
Former University of Mississippi chancellor Robert Khayat was pulling onto the shoulder of Country Club Road to park across from a friend’s house and discovered the shoulder was actually a ditch. Though his car flipped in the freak accident, Khayat walked away unscathed.
Warren Alford, former athletic director and football player, Eddie Crawford, former coach and athletic director, and Jim and Mary Sharp Reyner were all awaiting Khayat.
