Ole Miss Rebels’ Football Victory over Bama Finalist for ESPYS’ Best Upset

espys

The ESPYS is calling on all to vote for the best upset in competitive sports this past year.

Ole Miss Rebels’ 23-17 victory over the Bama Crimson Tide last October in the football season is one of the three finalists for the recognition. The 14-seed Georgia State Panthers’ basketball victory over third-seeded Baylor Bears in the NCAA tournament this past March is a finalist. The Kansas Royals’ 2-1 victory over Baltimore Orioles, thus winning the American League pennant, is also a finalist.

It comes with little surprise the Ole Miss Rebels’ victory is listed. The College Gameday personalities overwhelmingly predicted, with exception of Katy Perry (now honorary alumnae of University of Mississippi), that Bama Crimson Tide would once again defeat Ole Miss Rebels. The Bama’s defeat was a thrilling shock, and the fans stormed the field in celebration.

Now let’s relive that perfect day and vote here at this link! The voting ends at 8 p.m. on July 15.
