Is your mouth watering yet? It should be. You just met the 2016 line-up of Girl Scout cookies that are on sale now!
On Saturday, March 5, local Girl Scouts will set up cookie selling stands across Oxford to raise money for local Girl Scout troops.
Cookie stands will be set up at Wal-Mart from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Larson’s Cash Saver from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., Kroger from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and FNB on the Oxford Square from noon until 4 p.m. A special stand will be open at Wal-Mart on Sunday, March 6, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
Why Buy Girl Scout Cookies?
One-hundred percent of the money the Girl Scouts make from cookie sales go to their troop. From there, the troop has the option to donate the money to a local project that will improve the community or donate the money to a worthy cause.
Another reason to buy Girl Scout cookies, as if the taste alone wasn’t enough for you, is to help the troop develop their “5 Skills” in Girl Scouts. The “5 Skills” are goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.
Good luck to our local Girl Scouts on the cookie sales, but we know they don’t really need the luck since their cuteness and the deliciousness of the Girl Scout cookies sell themselves!
