Vassallo: Tell Me About the Students at Ole Miss in 1930s

IMG_1012

The Cardinal Club’s monument/plaque in front of Fulton Chapel is one of the most beautiful and historic of any on campus.

The plaque highlights names from the 1936-38 school years, a time in American history that was as stressful as any era we’ve ever witnessed.

Several of the family names on this plaque are ones I’m familiar, however, it would be of interest to learn the histories of these students, now 80 years later.

Should any of our readers identify any of these students from the 1930s and know their stories, this would be a fascinating discovery and bring “new meaning” to this landmark. How many served in WWII or Korea; who all had descendants that attended Ole Miss; and how they established their professional careers and chose to live would all be of interest.

Your input will be greatly appreciated!
