When life gives you lemons, you use them for a good cause. That’s what Ole Miss redshirt freshman punter Mac Brown has been doing for the past five years.
Brown’s “Awesome Lemonade Stand” will once again take place this summer (June 24) in his hometown of Eden Prairie, Minn, with all proceeds going towards ALS research.
ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, affects nearly 12,000 to 15,000 Americans according to the Centers for Disease Control.
According to Gridiron Now, Brown began his lemonade stand in 2012 after his friend’s father died from ALS. The lemonade stand has raised over $12,000 to date and is aiming to more than double that total this year.
Brown has already received support from Ole Miss quarterback Shea Patterson and kicker Gary Wunderlich.
