John Purdon – domestic violence with aggravated assault

Investigators with the Oxford Police Department arrested John Purdon, 29 years old from Oxford, for domestic violence – aggravated assault. This all occurred as a result of an incident that occurred on September 15 where the victim came in and signed charges on Purdon. Purdon’s bond was set at $1,500.00
The Oxford Police responded to the following incidents: five suspicious activities, four suspicious people, three disturbances, two malicious mischief, two petit larceny, two alarms, two emergency 911 hang up calls, two welfare concern, an obscene electronic communication, civil matter, improper parking, careless driving, lost property, and a phone scam with the caller attempting to gain credit card info.
The Oxford Police investigated five wrecks, issued 35 tickets, and made three arrests on the following charges: two for shoplifting and an out of jurisdiction warrant served.
The Oxford Police discovered a code enforcement violation for littering.
The University Police responded to the following incidents: a petit larceny at Crosby Hall, an accidental hit and run with property damage to vehicles at Luckyday Residential College, a service call for an ambulance, a service call for traffic assist at University Ave., an accidental property damage to vehicle at Turner Center, and a service call for a suspicious person at Campus Walk Apts.
The Oxford Fire Dept. responded to the following calls: a pull fire alarm malfunction at Winchester, a cancelled call about a wreck with entrapment on Highway 7 and 30 East, and a smoke detector malfunction at The Hub #3306.
