Summer is upon us in Oxford, which means a focus on family and outdoor activity, and Kinnucan’s offers everything you need to get the season started.
Kinnucan’s is an athletics store that specializes in outdoor apparel, footwear and necessities. The large inventory promises to keep things interesting and active this summer with an influx of summer products and new clothing, as well as the traditional favorites.
“We are excited to showcase our new brand of men’s shorts called Vintage 1946 this summer,” assistant manager Lauren Fiveash said.
Vintage 1946 is new to Kinnucan’s and caters to the college-aged, sporty male. Fiveash describes the brand as “great for everyday wear and perfect for staying cool in the summer and early fall.”
Kinnucan’s also has items for the Oxford woman. Currently all women’s sale items are buy one get one free, with an ever-increasing sale rack. Fiveash expects many flip-flop and sandal shipments this summer, including the popular brands Rainbow and Chacos.
Fiveash, a member of the Kinnucan’s staff for four years, emphasizes the importance of stylish outdoor living for loyal customers. The store continues to cater to the locals while a majority of students are away on break.
“The summertime is more focused around families living in Oxford,” Fiveash said. “It’s a time for people to come and buy summer clothes and shoes for the whole family.”
Along with sandals, Kinnucan’s’ most popular products for the summer are its selection of disc golf supplies and starter kits. Disc golf is very popular in Oxford and can be played at many locations around town.
“People are already purchasing supplies and are very excited to play this summer,” she said.
