Ole Miss Alumni Association Releases Game Weekend Activities for UT Martin Opening Game
The Ole Miss Alumni Association has released its game weekend activities guide for the UT Martin opener this Saturday. Activities begin Thursday evening with an ice cream social in the Triplett Alumni Center on campus for OMAA Scholarship recipients. Events will come to a close Saturday morning with breakfast in the Gertrude Ford Center.

OMAA Scholarship Recipients Ice Cream Social

Symbols of Controversy at Ole Miss
Protests abound in the South over the use of Confederate symbols, but the University of Mississippi has maintained the longest continuing dialog on the issue over the twentieth and into the twenty-first century. Dr. Leigh McWhite (Associate Professor, University Libraries) and Dr. Charles Reagan Wilson (Professor Emeritus, History and Southern Studies) will examine Chancellor Emeritus Robert Khayat’s administration in the context of this longer history. Due to the early kickoff time, the Ole Miss Alumni Association will not be hosting Member Zone this weekend. The building will remain open, and all fans are invited to enjoy coffee and fellowship. Triplett Alumni Center

ROTC Cannon Raffle
Win a chance at firing the cannon before the game! Tickets are $5/ea. and can be purchased prior to kickoff on gameday in front of Triplett Alumni Center. Tickets can also be purchased each Thursday and Friday before a home football game at 101 Barnard Hall. A winner will be chosen to meet by the entrance to the football field under the Jumbotron. The winner will have their photo taken on the field, shown how to fire the cannon and will pull the lanyard when the team comes out. Winners must show proof of raffle and have a gameday ticket to be eligible. Tickets will not carry over to the following game. Winners must not be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. Ear and eye protection will be provided, and winners must sign a release waiver. Proceeds benefit the Ole Miss Army ROTC Fund for cadet functions and scholarships.
