Navy: Trendy Fashion Tips for Early Fall Games at Ole Miss

As the Labor Day holiday comes to a close and the color white becomes a fashion faux pas during the fall season, (French for social blunder, of course) Rebel fashionistas are left with the question of what to wear for the remaining games of the season.

Lucky for us, the color navy is highly revered in the fashion world and is considered one of the top fashion neutral colors. For those of you who aren’t familiar with fashion neutral colors, they are simply color  palettes  that can be paired with any other color. And the topping on the cake? Navy’s dark hues and shades make for a very slimming look, so snacking in The Grove definitely won’t kill your vibe this go round.

With the Fresno State game just around the corner, we have compiled some of our favorite ways to pull off the “navy look!”

1. Timeless Navy Look

Dress designed by Lavender Brown available at Hemline in Oxford

Navy is the perfect hue to create a timeless, classic look. Silk is always a good route to go when wanting to look slim and chic. The material is seamless and falls on the natural curves of the body, making it an easy and elegant look! All that’s left for you to do is to accessorize!

2. Navy Patterns

Emily Hearne models a dress designed by Milly. It is available at Village Tailor in Oxford.

For  ladies who have passed the days of mini skirts and crop tops, there are still plenty of fashionable looks for you! Patterns are always a fun way to up your fashion game and add a little edge to your look. This dress is a classic take on the boxed body dress, but with a little spin! Pair this look with a big statement purse (designer or not) and voila! Who said youth has a number? It only gets better with age, girls.  🙂

3. Go Boho Navy

During the warm weather days, it is always fun to feel like a “Cali girl” and go bohemian (boho for short) for the day! The bohemian style usually consists of a flowy, unconventional piece paired with booties (fringe is in for the season) and a taupe colored or leather tote bag.

Details are a must when it comes to being boho girl, however. Layering multiple necklaces with fun colored bracelets and rocking the circled sunnies, will definitely complete your new summer look!

4. The College Navy

Two-piece set from Frock Fashions in Oxford

For our college fashionistas who are daring and fabulous, a two-piece set is always a go-to gameday look! This knitted navy and white-pigmented look is perfect for the fall season. Pair this look with a bold, statement necklace and a small, gold-chained purse, and you are ready to take on the Grove!

Have fun this game with whatever your style and vibe is! You are sure to make a statement either way this fall. Hotty Toddy!
