Sorority Bid Day: A Lot Changes Between Freshman and Sophomore Year
Needless to say, there are countless differences between a person’s freshman and sophomore year of college. When you’re a freshman, everything is new to you, and when you’re a sophomore, you’re finally starting to get the hang of the whole college thing. Nothing compares to the anticipation of Bid Day after the nerve-wracking week of rush here at Ole Miss. The freshman and sophomores both are beyond excited, and this is my personal take on Bid Day after experiencing both sides of rush.
Freshman: OMG it’s only 1 a.m.? Still 12 more hours until I can open my bid card. No way I’ll be getting any shut-eye between now and then… What time is it now? 1:03 a.m.? Great.
Sophomore: Wow, I am so happy I get to sleep for once this entire week. I’m going to enjoy every second of it.
Freshman: How much longer is this Gamma Chi reveal going to last? I just want to open my bid card!
Sophomore: When in the world are the babies going to get here?!
Freshman: Wow, wow, wow, I cannot fall on my way from sprinting from the Grove to my new home!
Sophomore: In this entire stampede of girls, how in the world am I supposed to find MY baby?
Freshman: How in the world do I throw my sign?
Sophomore: The sign is so easy. How are these new girls messing it up?
Freshman: Oh, this is so awkward. I’m running out of girls I know to take pictures with.
Sophomore: How in the world am I going to find all of my friends to take one big group photo?
Freshman: I am so thankful I have found my new home and met my future bridesmaids!
Sophomore: I am so thankful these girls have the chance to find lifelong friends like I did.
