As HottyToddy.com navigates the Oxford Film Festival pathways this week and weekend, it has been a challenge making a battle plan to spread our coverage around from venue to venue with the goal of getting as many happy faces published as possible.

That ultimate goal would be impossible without a dedicated group of Ole Miss journalism and new media interns leading the way.

Last night, as filmmakers gathered at the Lyric Oxford in droves, HT.com interns Hannah Pickett and Christopher Neal engaged many of the local and guest filmmakers in OFF’s first red carpet event… and the laughs were non-stop.

Always fashionable – even in leisure – Hannah’s favorite question to the filmmakers was asked in true Oscar technique; “Who are you wearing tonight?” Answers ranged from Levis to a Kroger paper bag that Spaghettiman wore with what appeared to be a hint of pride (but, it was really hard to tell with the aforementioned bag on his head).

Memorize these faces as the festival rolls on because these two (and others) will be situated throughout Oxford and all of the great venues in town hosting festival events.

And, when one of these amazing up and coming journalists yells “Hotty Toddy!” at you; yes… the correct response is “Hotty Toddy” but it’s also a calling card; one that’s urging you to visit our website and social media pages – all of them (Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, Flicker and Tumbler) – to begin sharing your smiling mug with the world.

Kudos on a job well done Hannah and Christopher. And the rest of you filmmakers and locals attending the Oxford Film Festival; if you hear our Hotty Toddy war cry or see one our flashy HottyToddy.com media badges; gather your troops and smile.
