The Ole Miss women’s basketball team returns to the hardwood this afternoon as they play host to the Texas Southern Lady Tigers inside the Pavilion. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
Ole Miss (9-3) comes into this game looking to snap a two-game slide that took place in Oregon before Christmas, when the Rebels fell to the No. 9 Oregon Ducks 90-46 and to Portland State 94-79.
Ole Miss battled back from an 18-point halftime deficit against Portland State behind the play of Alissa Alston, who played her fourth 20-point game of the season with 21 and seven assists, while Madinah Muhammad recorded her 10th double-digit game at 19 points.
Texas Southern rolls into Oxford with a 5-5 overall record on the young season. The Lady Tigers are coming off of a 72-69 loss to New Orleans.
This season, Texas Southern is averaging 63.1 points per game, and their defense is allowing opponents to score only 59.8 a game. The Lady Tigers are led on the floor by Joyce Kennerson, who averages 26.1 ppg.
