Ole Miss Recruiting Surge Continues With Impressive Spring Visits

Another week is in the books, which means another wave of highly rated recruits has made its way through Oxford.

It has become a steady rhythm this spring.

Big names show up, take in the place, meet with Pete Golding and the staff, then head home with something to say about it. If this pace keeps up, we’re going to see a lot more reactions in the coming days like the one Gabriel Osborne Jr. shared after his visit.

Osborne, a four-star corner from Oklahoma City, spent part of his week in Oxford and didn’t hide how much he enjoyed it. He posted about the trip on social media and made it clear the Rebels left an impression. That’s becoming a trend with these 2027 defenders, and Osborne fits right into that group.

He’s one of the most coveted corners in the class, checking in as the No. 4 player at the position. His offer list reads like a who’s who of college football. Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Texas and Alabama are all involved, and that’s only part of the group. Programs from every region have taken their swing.

Osborne has the frame and production to back up the attention.

He’s listed at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds and is coming off a strong junior season. He made plays on both sides of the ball, finishing with 233 receiving yards and three touchdowns on offense.

His real impact came on defense, where he posted 65 tackles, 10 pass breakups, three tackles for loss and two interceptions. He looked like one of the top prospects in the country all year.

Now the visit to Oxford is behind him, and the Rebels have done what they needed to do.

They’re in the mix, they’ve made a strong first impression and they’ve given Osborne something to think about as he lines up more trips this offseason.

The next step is pushing for an official visit, and with the way this staff has been stacking momentum each week, that feels like a realistic goal.

It’s only the first week of April, but the pattern is already clear. Another Friday rolls around, another elite recruit leaves Oxford with good things to say.

If that continues, the Rebels will stay right in the middle of some of the biggest recruitments in the 2027 class.
