Derek Moreton’s delectable dinner
Oxford’s Derek Moreton is kind of a fox. What other slick, tasteful, cunning creature could slip into the Coop and help himself to so many wings?
Originally from Tupelo, Derek is an Old Miss grad who’s been back in Oxford for a few years.
“Coop’s wings are the best in the biz,” he tells us. “They destroy chain wing restaurants the way their cayenne wings destroy my lips. Their menu once described the lemon pepper wings as ‘addictive.’ I prefer the teriyaki. I lived in Florida for five years. When I returned to Oxford each year I always had to eat at three places: City Grocery, Pizza Den, and Coop DeVille.”
