At the Ole Miss Quarterback Club National Signing Day party, many fans say they’re confused about the commitment choice of Chris Jones, a top defensive end, who has decided to play for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

With an Ole Miss recruiting class now ranked No. 5 in the nation by ESPN.com, they believe Jones will look back years down the road and regret his decision.

Although Ole Miss alumni present for the Quarterback Club Signing Day event speculated that Jones would have been a great Rebel recruit, they added that he  will get no mercy during the annual Egg Bowl against Mississippi State University.

Regardless of losing Jones, the day will likely go down in Rebel recruiting history as one of, if not the most, successful signing days Ole Miss has ever seen. Even big time celebrities such as Lebron James are weighing in with tweets. “Ole Miss ain’t messing around today! Big time recruits coming in. SEC is crazy” — LeBron James (@KingJames) February 6, 2013
