Friends and relatives of Lesley Chambers are reaching out to the Oxford and Lafayette County community for support to assist the Lafayette County native diagnosed with leukemia last September.

Chambers, the sister of Wendy Chambers Carmean, is currently in a Denver, Colorado, hospital receiving treatment for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML).

Described as “one of those rare souls that truly make the world a better place” Lesley underwent a life-saving bone marrow transplant soon after her diagnosis and is slowly improving and recovering in spite of setbacks and side effects.

Sister Wendy has set up a crowd-funding campaign for Leslie at GiveForward.com. Her support group aims to raise $10,000 to help defray medical expenses described by friend Rick Hynum as “through the roof.”
