OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss men’s and women’s cross country teams will head to Earlysville, Va., for Saturday’s 2013 Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational.

“We are excited that this meet begins the championship leg of the season,” said Ole Miss head coach Brian O’Neal. “This will be a good barometer of where we are while competing against some of the top teams in the country.”

The women are led by a core group of veterans, including junior Haley Cutright, mixed with a tremendous freshman class that the program brought in this year. One of those talented freshmen, Australian Michaela Quinn, will make her college debut this weekend.

The Lady Rebels finished in third place at the Commodore Classic two weeks ago led by a runner-up individual finish by Cutright.  Freshman Annie Kelly improved her 5K time by nearly an entire minute in Nashville and will look for even more improvement from her and the rest of the freshmen this week.

The women have improved a spot in the USTFCCCA regional poll, moving from seventh to sixth, jumping Alabama in the South Region.

The Rebel men look to keep improving as the veteran runners, like sophomore Ian Carter and junior Max Holman, guide a talented group of freshmen, including Texas native Robert Domanic, who will make his college debut in Virginia.

The men’s 8K race will begin at 9 a.m. CT Saturday shortly followed by the women in the 5K at 9:30.
