Southern Living Names "Best Bars in the South"

Southern Living Magazine has named its “100 Best Bars in the South” and two Mississippi spots have made the cut. Unfortunately, none of those are in Oxford, but major props to Jackson and Hattiesburg!

The Apothecary at Brent’s Drugs in Jackson is modeled after the illegal speakeasies of the Prohibition Era.

Southern Living writer Stephanie Grenada chose the speakeasy-themed Apothecary at Brent’s Drugs in Jackson, as well as Branch in Hattiesburg.
At The Apothecary in Jackson, Grenada recommends a ‘Doc Noble cocktail’, named after a 1960s Brent’s pharmacist, and at Branch in Hattiesburg Grenada encourages readers to try ‘The Necessary Means’ with rum, citrus, curacao, cinnamon, and Cherry Heering.
Cheers to fellow Mississippians receiving national (and southern) recognition!
