Bobby Hill, cornerback on the Ole Miss football team, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by the Oxford Police Department. Hill is charged with sexually assaulting a female.
Hill is indefinitely suspended from the football team by head coach Hugh Freeze.
According to the Lafayette County Jail docket, Hill was arrested, booked and released on a $10,000 bond. He remained in the Lafayette County Detention Center for seven hours.
Coach Hugh Freeze released a statement Wednesday afternoon on the situation:
“We are aware of the situation and recognize the proper authorities are responsible for the matter,” Freeze said. “Bobby has been indefinitely suspended from all football activities while the process moves forward. We take this very seriously and will make decisions once the course of action is complete.”
