Bryan Fenley is a sports reporter at Memphis television station Local 24 News, but he holds a deep family connection with Ole Miss. Fenley’s dad, Joe, was an Ole Miss grad who went to school with HottyToddy.com publisher Ed Meek and later donated part of his fortune to establish the Meek School of Journalism.
The senior Fenley, after leaving Ole Miss, went on to establish a hugely successful business, running Gateway Freight at Los Angeles International Airport.
Bryan Fenley’s sister recently graduated from Ole Miss, but he himself came to Memphis by way of broadcast journalism school at The University of North Carolina in Greensboro. He also worked at stations in Winston Salem, N.C. and Spokane, Washington, between 2011 and this summer when he arrived in Memphis. Bryan jumped at a chance to get back to the area where his family lives and his memories are abundant.
“I found my way home,” said the aspiring long-form video producer. “It’s worked out amazingly that I am back where my father and sister graduated and where I have the privilege of covering the school where so many of my childhood memories took root.”
Bryan is especially proud of the following video capturing the special rivalry that the Ole Miss and Memphis football teams began building decades ago.
