Goose Creek Club To Have Egg Bowl Gathering
In Oxford the festivities don’t end after Thanksgiving because Oxonians have the Egg Bowl weekend to celebrate, and Goose Creek Club is pitching in with a wholesome lunch and a viewing party for the Egg Bowl afternoon as well as a wholesome breakfast on Sunday.
The Goose Creek Club is a tennis, swim and fitness destination in north Mississippi. It is located at the end of Anderson Road, across from Wellsgate’s eastern community entrance. It is surrounded by trees on 10 acres, offering a private club experience.
The Egg Bowl festivities will be on Friday and Saturday with the Terrance Grill open for lunch at 11 a.m. The dinner on those days will feature Chef Joe Bell’s steak with fish and pasta specials. Be sure to call ahead for reservations.
On Saturday afternoon, the Egg Bowl game will be televised at 2:30 p.m. on CBS. The Sunday breakfast brunch will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. These are dishes available for eating up after a memorable Saturday: scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, southern style grits, hash browns, green beans, fresh fruit, southern fried tenders, homemade muffins and biscuits with complimentary mimosas that would make William Faulkner proud.
