Ole Miss Grabs 4-Star Recruit Cooley of Laurel
Ole Miss missed earning a 10-win season with a hard loss in the Peach Bowl, but the Rebels still managed to score a four-star commit only hours after the game because of the strong abilities of the freshmen and sophomores.
Laurel High School junior four-star Octavious Cooley committed Wednesday to the Rebels, according to a report from 247Sports. Cooley was a member of the Laurel Tornadoes that defeated Oxford in the 5A title game.
Cooley is ranked Mississippi’s No. 6 junior prospect and the No. 30 wideout in the country. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder gives Ole Miss eight commitments for its No. 1-ranked 2016 class.
It’s undetermined what slots Cooley will fill for the Rebels, but the potential of this blossoming recruiting class can only add to the power of the existing Rebel underclassmen.
