Oxford Host New Hope in Hoops Action Friday
The Oxford Chargers return to action Friday night as they welcome in the New Hope Trojans for a district matchup in the Thunderdome.
Oxford is coming into the game after routing Saltillo 82-58 Tuesday night at home. With the win, the Chargers improved to a overall record of 20-4 on the season and remain undefeated on their own floor.
The Chargers defended home court well by playing hard all game long. Coach Drew Tyler’s squad is averaging 73.9 points a game this season, making it difficult for their opponents to keep up with them on the scoreboard with their smothering defense.
The New Hope Trojans get set to come in with a 17-6 record this season averaging 70.1 points per game, setting up a potentially difficult matchup for the Chargers. This season, Oxford is outrebounding New Hope 17.0 to 16.6.
Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. after the Lady Chargers take on New Hope.
