Rebs Look For Win No. 7 With Valentine’s Date Against Hogs
The Ole Miss Rebel basketball team returns home after two tough road games to face the No. 24 Arkansas Razorbacks Saturday night. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. Valentine’s night and can be seen on SEC Network.
Ole Miss is coming off a 62-61 victory over Florida on Thursday night to continue the Rebels’ six-game winning streak. Junior Stefan Moody drained a 3-pointer as the clock was winding down Thursday night. The shot gave the Rebels the one-point advantage and secured the win with only 2.7 seconds remaining in the game to sweep Florida for the first time since 1990.
With the win, Ole Miss pulled off a season sweep of the Gators and move to 17-7 on the year and 8-3 in SEC play.
Arkansas will be coming into Oxford with the same record inside conference play of 8-3 and 19-5 on the year. In their last outing Tuesday night, the Razorbacks hung 101 points on the Auburn Tigers in a 101-87 win down on the Plains.
The Razorbacks are ranked No. 10 in the nation as they average 80.3 points per game, while the Rebels average 73.8 points a night and are 44 in the country in scoring.
Arkansas is led in scoring by sophomore Bobby Portis, averaging 17.9 points per game with pulling in 8.8 rebounds.
The atmosphere inside the Tad Smith Coliseum should be electric as the game is sold out and both teams should be headed for the Big Dance in March.
