Not only is Cups Espresso Cafe the best venue for coffee in Oxford, it’s also the best coffee and tea in town.
The Cups menu provides a full menu of drinks that coffee snobs and casual drinkers can all appreciate. They offer coffee, espresso drinks, loose-leaf tea, fruit smoothies, Italian cream soda and hot chocolate.
Although the eclectic setup can seem daunting at first, what pulls the place together is their commitment to the details. Cups puts their best foot forward not only in the big things (think free wifi, good coffee, and knowledgeable staff), they also pay close attention to the small things.
For example, they offer local baked goods from Honey Bee Bakery, they use local dairy from Brown Family Dairy, and even the honey comes from Mardis Honey in Taylor.
Cups also supports the arts. Customers get the chance to listen to local musicians at in-house shows, to view or purchase local art gallery-style on the walls, or support local artists by purchasing art in the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council $5 vending machine.
Coffee beans from all over the world end up at the roasters in Ridgeland, Mississippi, and all the varieties and blends roasted just down the road can be purchased in the café.
Cups offers what they call Free Espresso Friday, where in-store purchases come with a complimentary espresso shot. They also offer a Cups Card that allows customers to build credit with Cups on the card with every purchase. So if you buy a bag of coffee beans and use the card, customers can basically get a free drink.
Cups is located 1501 Jackson Ave. West and can be reached at (662) 380-5027. Open Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
