Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six alarms, four suspicious activities, three malicious mischief, two welfare concerns, two motorist assists, two careless driving, two disturbing the peace, a fire department assist, an embezzlement, a found property, and a parking complaint.
Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued 20 traffic citations and made three arrests on the following charges:

University police responded to the following incidents: a suspicious vehicle off-campus, and a disturbance at Campus Walk.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Small grass fire at 1:29 a.m. by a blown transformer at Mid-Town Shopping Center
Oven element burned out at 9:54 a.m. at Burger King
The Mississippi Highway Patrol will begin the New Year’s Enforcement Period on Thursday, December 31 at 6 p.m. and will conclude Friday, January 1 at midnight. Troopers will be conducting multiple safety checkpoints statewide in order to remove impaired drivers from the roadways in Mississippi.
