Eating Oxford: Restaurant Watch

With all of the construction going on around Oxford, I thought it was about time to recap some of the restaurants we can look forward to in the coming months.

Rowdy Rebs (rowdyrebs.com), a bar featuring seafood, wings and chicken tenders, is scheduled to open on Double Decker weekend at 122 Courthouse Square next to Ajax Diner.

Saint Leo Restaurant (eatsaintleo.com), the much-anticipated Italian restaurant, is slated to open soon at 1101 Jackson Avenue East.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit (dickeys.com) will replace the former High Point Coffee at 2311 Jackson Avenue in May.

Sinfully Southern Bakery (facebook.com/sinfullysouthernbakery), owned by Dwayne Ingraham, former City Grocery pastry chef, will open soon at 3000 Taylor Road.

Holli’s Sweet Tooth will move to a new, undisclosed, location on the Oxford Square in June, under new ownership.

Cook Out (cookout.com), a popular burger and shake chain based in North Carolina, will open soon in the former location of KFC/Long John Silvers at 2195 Jackson Avenue West.

The new Galleria II shopping center, under construction near Home Depot, will debut two new restaurants in the fall:

Mugshots Grill & Bar (mugshotsgrillandbar.com) will feature a full lineup of decadent burgers, sandwiches, pastas and more.

Coyote Blues (coyotebluesfreshmex.com) will serve up fresh Mex fare with a Louisiana twist.

Four new eateries are slated to open in the Highland Court Strip Mall at 1801 Jackson Avenue West:

Fergndan’s Pizza (fergndanspizza.com) is a build-your-own pizza café.

great american cookies

Great American Cookies (greatamericancookies.com) and Marble Slab Creamery (marbleslab.com) will share a space offering cookies and ice cream mix-ins.

juva juice

JUVA Juice (juvajuice.com) will provide juices and smoothies.

The Beagle Bagel Café (thebeaglebagelcafe.com) will have breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches, coffees, grit bowls and more.
