Former Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace’s football playing days are in the past.

According to a report from The Clarion-Ledger’s Daniel Paulling, the Rebels’ three-year starting QB has decided to forgo an invitation to play in the Canadian Football League to instead pursue a coaching career.

Wallace told Paulling that the Toronto Argonauts recently invited him to a minicamp, but he declined.

“I want to move on with my life,” Wallace told Paulling. “I want to be the best coach that I can be. I don’t want to be at this point in my life, if I went to the CFL and was able to play there a couple of years, when I was 30 years old instead of being able to at 23.”

Wallace played in 39 games for the Rebels from 2012-14, accumulating 9,534 yards passing and 62 touchdowns. He also rushed for 944 yards and 19 touchdowns, but it was his 41 career interceptions that seemingly kept him from reaching his full potential during his time in Oxford.

He reportedly received interest from the Kansas City Chiefs after going undrafted in 2015, but he was not signed after a tryout.

Wallace will serve as the quarterbacks coach at Marshall Co. High School in his home state of Tennessee. Bo’s younger brother, Bryce, plays quarterback there.
