2016 Ole Miss football preview: Wide Receivers
Ole Miss football preview: The Rebels have put themselves in the conversation as the new Wide Receiver U. The 2016 team is loaded at the WR position.
Ole Miss has had solid wide receivers for the past decade. From Mike Wallace and Shay Hodge, to Laquon Treadwell and Donte Moncrief. The Rebels currently have four NFL wide receivers in the league, Wallace, Treadwell, Moncrief, and Dexter McCluster.
The Rebels history with wide receivers had helped recruit and bring in stud receivers from all over the country. With Laquon Treadwell going in the 1st round of the 2016 NFL draft, expect even more big name receivers to commit to the Rebels.
The 2017 class already has one big name receiver committed, Morton, MS receiver D.D. Bowie. The Rebels are in one some more star recruits at the position as well, with Tee Higgins being the #1 priority at receiver.

Oxford’s Elston proud that he has earned shot at playing in the NFL
Trae Elston knew that he was going to get an opportunity, and he just had to be ready when it happened.
After a standout career at Ole Miss, the former Oxford High safety was hoping to be drafted in this year’s NFL draft. However, the draft came and went and Elston’s name was never called.
In the end, though, everything worked out for him as he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New Orleans Saints, with a chance of making his dream of playing in the NFL come true.
“It was very disappointing,” Elston said on not being drafted. “It’s everybody’s dream to get drafted, but I knew there was a place for me if I didn’t get drafted. I just knew that I was going to get a chance, and once I got my foot in the door I was going to make the most of it.”
