Rebels in Rio: Oxford’s Sam Kendricks Brings Home the Bronze
Oxford native Sam Kendricks found himself standing on the podium this evening with the bronze medal.
After three attempts with the last one nearly close, Kendricks couldn’t clear 5.93 meters (19.5465 feet).
Kendrick’s wins the first medal for the USA in men’s pole vault since 2004. Thiago Braz Da Silva of Brazil won the Gold medal.
Nonetheless, he represented his hometown, Oxford, and the University of Mississippi well. Let’s give him a loud Hotty Toddy for bringing home the bronze medal!
