VIDEO – QB Chad Kelly: ‘We Just Have to Finish Drives’

In this first-time matchup with Wofford, the Ole Miss Rebels saw its offense come to the life under the leadership of Heisman hopeful Chad Kelly.

“I thought I did alright. There were some things I wish I could’ve done better,” said Ole Miss Quarterback Chad Kelly. “Offensively, we did a good job at moving the ball. We just have to finish drives on those third down and shorts. We have to make sure we pound the ball and get those yards that we need.”

Kelly said it was tough getting ready given the team just played FSU on Monday.

“It was definitely a short week, but those guys had a great mentality in practice,” Kelly said. “They wanted to get better every day. We stuck to having great execution in practice so it would relate to Saturday, and it showed.”

Next Saturday #1 ranked Alabama plays at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, a team the Rebels have beaten in two consecutive years.

“They’re going to be a great team,” Kelly Said. “They’re No. 1 for a reason. We have to make sure we go in there with a lot of intensity. We’re going to need the fans in it the whole game. We’re going to have to bring it. It comes down to execution, so we’re just going to have to keep playing hard.”

The Rebels have won 12 of 13 games against FCS since 2005, including six straight.
