Crime ReportOxford police responded to the following calls: Nine reported DUI’s, 911 hang up, embezzlement, 13 alarms, seven welfare concerns, seven ambulance assists, three fire department assists, four assaults-simple, nine petit larceny, 13 improper parking, 10 suspicious activities, five suspicious persons, suspicious vehicle, three reports of lost property, shoplifting, 31 disturbing the peace, four malicious mischief, three reports of recovered property, four reports of public drunks, littering, civil matter, domestic disturbance, counterfeit currency, two harassing phone calls/texts, two animal complaints, three stalking, theft from motor vehicle (North Lamar Blvd.)

Oxford police investigated 40 wrecks and issued 140 traffic citations

Lafayette Sheriff’s department responded to the following incidents:  Three accidents, one simple assault, four alarms, two animal complaints, three residential burglaries (CR 431, CR 303, Hwy 30), five disturbances, two domestic violence, grand larceny, petit larceny, two harassment, 12 service calls, seven suspicious activities, five transports, trespassing, five road obstructions, six reckless drivers, fraud, three information, four disturbing the peace, littering

Lafayette Sheriff’s department made four arrests on the following charges:

Friday, September 16
Intoxicated person on Hathorn Road, public drunk at Fraternity Alley, suspicious vehicle on Magnolia Drive, public drunk at Tad Smith Coliseum, public drunk at Chancellor’s House, vehicle stop at Fraternity Row, Simple Assault on a Police Officer, malicious mischief, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, failure to comply, public drunk at Fraternity Row
Saturday, September 17
Suspicious vehicle at Fraternity Alley, intoxicated person at Physical Plant Office, suspicious vehicle at Campus Walk Apartments, intoxicated person at University Place, ambulance needed at Stockard Hall, possession of paraphernalia at Residential College, ambulance needed at Intercollegiate Athletics, fight at University Place
Sunday, September 18
Bicycle larceny at Kappa Alpha Fraternity, ambulance needed at Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, two suspicious vehicles at Stockard Hall, suspicious person at Grove Loop, intoxicated person and possession of drug paraphernalia at Stockard Hall, possession of alcoholic beverages over 21 at Residence Hall 2
