Oxford Grandmom Gets Ambush Makeover On Today’s Hoda And Kathie Lee
Oxford grandmother, Lisa Wilson was randomly chosen from the crowd for an “Ambush Makeover” on The Today Show’s Hoda and Kathie Lee segment this morning in New York City.
Hottytoddy.com talked to Lisa Wilson’s daughter, Callie Wilson Wolfe, also of Oxford, who is a nurse at the RedMed Clinic.
“We took a girls trip to NYC! We woke up at 4:30 A.M. this morning and waited on the plaza at Rockefeller center with neon signs in hand,” said Wilson Wolfe. “My mom’s sign said ‘Ambush for a 65th birthday celebration’ and mine said ‘Pick my mom!’ So they saw us and came over and talked to us and decided my mom was a perfect candidate!”
Airing every Thursday, the Ambush Makeover gives two women each week a new look and a chance to be alongside Hoda and Kathie Lee in the Today Show studio. Chosen at random from the crowd, Wilson and Wilson Wolfe were able to celebrate Wilson’s 65th birthday with the nation watching.
“Wait ’till you get home to Oxford baby!” Kathie Lee Gifford is heard saying about Wilson’s new makeover.
Lisa Wilson, retired school teacher, taught English and Public Speaking at South Pontotoc and Pontotoc City Schools. She also taught at Hatley, Tupelo and Smithville schools during her 37 year career.
“A trip of a lifetime,” described daughter Callie Wilson Wolfe. “We also won tickets to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’s monologue rehearsal.”
