Grace Given Gifts, Deanna Hamsley, Collierville, TN
Finding beauty in textures created by nature, decay and wear, and the desire to spread the gospel: Deanna Hamsley finds herself taking inspiration not only from other artists, but also from details others may rarely notice. The mixed media artist from Tennessee, is drawn to intricate patterns of cracked sidewalks and worn buildings, rusted metals, peeling paint, and the beauty of wood in all forms. Reclaimed wood, metals, and nature’s colors are often her inspiration for the day. Deanna hopes to share with the audience the beauty she sees in God’s word and the easily unnoticed surfaces.

After a full career in retail management, she started Grace Given Gifts with a passion for teaching, sharing, and inspiring others toward their gifts. Being self employed has given her the freedom of being an artist without fear or urgency of creating under conventional standards. Experimenting with acrylic paints, inks, and various mediums and tools, she sometimes finds herself with a finished painting and no clear memory of the individual steps taken on the way.

Deanna shares her life with God, her husband, and their 5 children. When she is not creating in the studio or building in the workshop along side her husband, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and decorating.
