Services Ole Miss senior Raegan Dare Barnhart of Hernando, who passed away due to unknown medical causes this past weekend, have been set for Wednesday.

Raegan was a member of Alpha Psi Chapter of Delta Gamma at Ole Miss. Her loss has touched many, and Delta Gamma Fraternity National President Stacia Rudge Skoog issued this statement on behalf of Delta Gammas worldwide:
“Delta Gamma is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Raegan Barnhart, a senior member at our Alpha Psi chapter. On behalf of Delta Gamma, we send our deepest condolences to her family, friends and sisters, and encourage our sisters at Ole Miss to seek the counseling services kindly offered by the University.

“With great sadness and heavy hearts, we inform you Ole Miss Delta Gamma has lost a sister,” a statement on the DG Facebook read. “Raegan was an incredible asset to our chapter and loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.”

Raegan Dare Barnhart of Hernando, MS passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 in Stuttgart, AR. She was born in Springfield, MO on June 22, 1995. Her family moved to Mississippi in 1996.
Raegan graduated with Honors from Magnolia Heights School in 2013 where she was active in student government, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Beta Club and numerous other school groups. She played on the tennis and basketball teams and served as manager of the football team for several years. She was selected as a top 12 school beauty in grades 9-12.
Reagan was a senior at the University of Mississippi as a David H. Nutt Endowment Scholar majoring in Dietetics and Nutrition and Biochemistry. She was a beloved and active member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She served as a summer tennis camp instructor for four years in Oxford and worked at Ironstone Separations, Inc.
The family will receive friends at Hernando United Methodist Church, 1890 Mount Pleasant Road, Hernando, MS, where she was a member, from 12 noon until 3 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hernando United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Hernando Memorial Park. Hernando Funeral Home has charge.
Raegan is survived by her parents, Brent and Krista Barnhart sister, Mary Ellis Barnhart and Colin Liles, who was like a brother to her, all of Hernando and grandparents, Dorothy Woods of Ozark, MO and Wayne and Carol Atkinson of Brandon, MS and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Earl Barnhart and Jack Woods.
Raegan loved life, her family and friends and everything Ole Miss. All who knew her knew that she was an avid lover of all dogs. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Gallant Hearts Guide Dog Center, 131 Red Fox Lane, Madison, MS 39110 www.gallanthearts.org, a Delta Gamma Philanthropy, to purchase a guide dog to be named in Raegan’s memory.
