Oxford Photo Works, Jim Hendrix, Oxford, MS

“In 1973, Glenda and I came to Oxford, Mississippi, where I worked in data processing at Ole Miss while earning a masters degree in physics. I retired from Ole Miss in 1996 as a research scientist at the National Center for Physical Acoustics.

My childhood artistic interest resurfaced in 2012 when I began taking a camera on my walks around town. Soon I was creating images that evoke nostalgic feelings for Oxford, Ole Miss, and surrounding areas. For this, I often combine numerous exposures into a single image with strong detail and color, with little or no lens distortion and with very high resolution, making it suitable for printing in large formats. I sell my prints directly and in a few select shops locally. Also, I welcome requests for private showings in my studio.

Besides photography, I produce my own fine art prints. There is nothing like the satisfaction of rendering a great photograph in its final format form on fine art paper or canvas or even photo paper.

I also reproduce original artworks. Local artists have me digitize their works and print them on canvas, fine art paper, watercolor paper or matte photo paper.” – Jim Hendrix
