Ole Miss announced on Saturday that defensive coordinator Dave Wommack will be retiring at the end of the season. Here are four more candidates to replace Wommack.

Last month I wrote the article, Four Candidates to Replace Dave Wommack. While it was before the “retirement” was announced, these four candidates still stand as potential DCs for Ole Miss.

The 2016 season has been one most Ole Miss fans would like to forget. After losing star quarterback Chad Kelly, the Rebels turned to promising freshman Shea Patterson, but were unable to secure postseason eligibility thanks to a blowout loss in the Egg Bowl.

While the 5-7 season is disappointing to everyone, Patterson has promised that the Rebels will bounce back in a post to Twitter on Monday:

The Egg Bowl didn’t work out the way Hugh Freeze wanted, but he received some good news to pick him up on Monday morning.

Three-star defensive end Ryder Anderson announced his commitment to Ole Miss via Twitter:

screen-shot-2016-11-29-at-1-37-13-pmAnderson previously committed to Arkansas back in June and is the younger brother Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Anderson is the No. 72 defensive end in the 2017 recruiting class. The Katy, Texas native is rated as the No. 208 player in the Lone Star State.

247Sports reports that Ole Miss offered Anderson on Nov. 17. At 6-foot-7 and 230-pounds coming out of high school, Anderson certainly has the frame to be a SEC defensive lineman.
