Three Rebels Compete at Winter Air Gun
Ole Miss senior Alison Weisz qualified for the finals and finished eighth at the 2016 USA Shooting Winter Air Gun Championships this past weekend at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Weisz finished eighth in the women’s 10m air rifle on Sunday with a 119.8 in the final. She qualified for the final with a relay score of 415.9. This marked the second year in a row for Weisz to finish in the top 10, as she took ninth in 2015.
Junior Jessica Haig and freshman Hayley Carroll joined Weisz in the three-day competition. Haig finished 43rd overall with a 407.1 and Carroll finished 32nd in the women’s open division and 24th in the junior division with a 409.1.
The Rebels will now take time off for academic finals and the holidays before returning to the range in January to take on Kentucky and Murray State.
